What is the compound interest formula?

For discrete compounding, A = P(1 + r/n)^(n·t). Continuous uses A = P·e^(r·t). Nestfigure also supports optional monthly deposits with an annuity-style model.

Does compounding more often always help?

Under a fixed nominal rate in this model, more frequent compounding usually raises effective annual yield. Real products may quote APY differently.
