What is the monthly payment on $10,000 at 8% for 36 months?
Stated sample only: about $313.36/month. Prefill calculator · Example page.
Do longer loan terms cost more interest?
Under a fixed APR and no extra payments, longer terms usually lower the monthly payment and raise total interest because principal declines more slowly. Compare terms in the calculator table.
How does an extra monthly payment help in this model?
Extra dollars are added to the base payment each month, which can shorten payoff time and reduce total interest if the loan allows prepayment without penalties (Nestfigure does not model penalties).
